28. Subscription – If you think of something valuable (newsletter, online magazine, etc.) that you can consistently offer on a certain basis (weekly, monthly, etc.), you may want to offer a subscription service. This could be a fee charged each time your product is sent out or on a monthly basis. Either way, this has to be something that your customers can only get by subscribing to your website.
But that was 2007, and quite a bit has changed since then. Where a side business was once a novel idea, it has since become much more mainstream. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, freelancers now make up around 15% of the workforce, compared to only 7% in 1995. And the trend isn’t expected to stop here. The BLS reports that freelancers and self-employed individuals may comprise 20% of the workforce by 2020.

The first thing before starting a blog is identifying a profitable niche. Make sure that you have a genuine interest in it. Then, search for available domains. You should purchase a .com domain to have a global authority. And, the next step is crucial. You have to choose from two options, free platform or self- hosted one. I prefer going with latter. If you select the first one, go to any free blogging platform and connect the domain after starting the blog. Or else, purchase a hosting plan and enjoy blogging after installing WordPress.

You typically won't be able to retain copyright over your work or collect royalties, however. Even so, by doing freelance work you can build a portfolio and make valuable connections which may later pay off with more stable job opportunities.

While this may sound complicated, you no longer need vast amounts of coding knowledge to create a chatbot. In fact, there are now chatbot-building platforms like ChattyPeople that allow you to create a bot for free in a matter of minutes through a powerful dashboard. Because many businesses don't have time to create these chatbots themselves, you could do it for them by simply creating your own ChattyPeople account.
Opening your shop, listing products and prices takes less than 30 minutes. It costs $0.20 to list one item in your shop for 4 month (or till it sales) and Etsy takes 3.5% commission from each sale you make. Mind that fact when setting up the prices. Shipping costs are either to be covered by you or by the buyer (you can set the rates depending on the buyer’s’ location e.g. free shipping around US; $10.99 shipping to Europe).
Blogging is something that requires patience, persistence and discipline. It may mean writing everyday for over a year before you really start to see any money from it. There are exceptions to the rule, but from my dealings with other bloggers, it seems to be pretty common to spend one or even two years building your blog, your brand and your authority, before making any serious amount of money.
